In the past I have always just bought a plan book and a separate grade book, but I really wanted to keep everything together for this coming year in my beautiful blue big binder. (I guess it's an alliteration day.)
The other day Thinking of Teaching showed off the teacher binder inserts that she was giving away for FREE! I think they are absolutely adorable, and since I have finally figured out that I do have an apple themed classroom, they were perfect!
Here's what I have my binder broken into:
Cover
This is the Beach themed freebie that Charity had a while back on the OCB.
My co-worker designed this and is letting me use it. Yes, I printed them off pretty blank, but I know that I need to actually write things down to remember them. That's why I stopped using a lesson plan binder before - I kept forgetting to read the typed portion, and only read my own handwriting.
I printed this off from the Pinterest pin - I want the verbs handy for writing objectives. Also in this area is my pacing guide and standards lists.
District calendar
This came from Teaching in Room 6 - she has the ELA standards typed up into a checklist. My district will also give me the official checklist/rubric sheet for each kid in August. Those will go here.
My BTS parent questionnaire. The parents fill this out about their kids. Here is the document if you want to take a look. It works well for me.
Ready for notes - we get a weekly agenda at the staff meeting that I write on.
I hope this helps someone out there.
